Super Eco FAQ's
SUPER PITS FAQ's:
HOW DO I APPLY MY DEODORANT PASTE?
Scoop a pea-sized amount of the paste out of the tin with a clean dry finger. Rub gently into your arm pit until you can no longer see it. Smell fresh ALL day!
WHO IS IT FOR?
Super Pits Natural Deodorant is great for anyone who wants to stay smelling fresh all day without the use of toxic chemicals such as aluminium. Because we use safe, natural ingredients, it is also great for pre-teens and teens who need a natural, long lasting B.O. buster.
HOW DOES THE DEODORANT PASTE WORK?
All our ingredients work together to neutralise under arm bacteria. These are the little blighters that cause the smell. Once they are gone, the smell is gone!
HOW LONG WILL MY 60G TIN LAST?
Our 60g tin is great value for money. Not only does it contain high quality, natural ingredients sourced locally and from within Australia, it is long lasting! This tin should last you for 2 - 3 months.
HOW CAN I REDUCE MY CARBON FOOTPRINT?
You can purchase our Super Pits Deodorant Paste in bulk bundles so that you don't need to purchase so often. By doing this you will also get a discount on the product (win win!).
HOW CAN I REUSE MY TIN?
We designed our packaging so that the tins can be reused again and again. Although our tins are recyclable, reusing is the most eco-friendly thing we can do. Once you have cleaned your tin, you can use them for so many things.
Here are some ideas:
STORAGE
We all have nick-knacks lying around the house that we don't where to put. The tins are so useful for items such as bobby pins, hairbands, earphones, cables, spare buttons from new clothing, jewellery, keys etc.
TRAVEL
Storage for herbs, salt and pepper and soap for camping.
TINCTURES
The tins can be used for all your homemade creams and tinctures.
RE-LABEL YOUR TINS
If you are super organised and so that you can keep track of what is inside, remove the sticker by soaking the tin in vinegar. You can place a new sticker on the tin or paint on your new label.

MY DEODORANT PASTE IS HARDER/GRAINIER
During different times of the year, the deodorant MAY go through some textural shifts. This is because we do not use any toxic stabilisers which would normally prevent this from happening. We want to keep it totally natural.
If in the rare case a shift in texture should happen, there are some quick fixes for these changes. The deodorant will still be as effective as ever.
HARDER CONSISTENCY (WINTER)
It is simply a case of warming the paste in the following ways so that it is easier for you to apply.
1. Rub the paste between your finger for a few seconds to warm and then apply.
2. Hold the pea sized scoop between your finger and your armpit for a few seconds before rubbing in, so that it softens and is then easy to spread.

GRAINIER THAN USUAL (SUMMER)
This comes about when the formula heats in the sun/heat and then cools too slowly. This is most likely to happen if you are taking your Super Pits out and about with you on a hot summer's day. Don't fret, the grains will disappear once applied to the skin and although it looks different, the deodorant is still safe and will still work for you.
If you are not liking the look of the grains in your tin, simply follow these instructions:
1. Put the tin into a bowl and (carefully) pour boiling water around it to melt the formula. Stop pouring just below the cap.
2. Take the tin out of the water and thoroughly mix the contents together again using something narrow like a chop stick or the end of a spoon.
3. Place the tin of deodorant in the fridge and let it cool.

OR
1. Scrape the contents from the tin into a clean bowl.
2. Heat for 5 to 10 seconds in the microwave until liquified.
3. Return liquid to the tin and place in the fridge to cool down.

WILL SUPER PITS STAIN MY CLOTHES?
If you let the paste soak into you armpits fully, it shouldn’t leave stains. If you do find that the deodorant leaves a mark on your clothes, simply soak the underarm section of your clothing in really hot water with some natural stain remover/detergent (which you can find here) and it will disappear.
WHAT IF I HAVE A REACTION?
If you experience a rash of any kind, please discontinue use until your armpits have healed. Very few people have an allergy to bicarbonate of soda but if you are one of the few and you want to persist in making it work, you can you try the following:
1. Dab some apple cider vinegar solution on your armpits each night (1 tsp ACV in a cup of water).
2. Rub some amazing, healing coconut oil under the arms before applying the deodorant.
3. Exfoliate your armpits once a week using a flannel.
4. Do not use deodorant immediately after shaving.
If you are still experiencing soreness and irritation, it might be advisable to use a bicarb-free natural deodorant (we are currently in the process of developing a bi-card free version of our deodorants, please keep an eye out for updates on our socials!) please try the above before you move on.

SUPER BAR FAQ's:
HOW DOES YOUR SHAMPOO BAR'S DIFFER FROM REGULAR SOAP?
With regards to soaps and shampoo bars, the difference is the percentage of the oils & butters that are used and also what botanicals & other ingredients that are added (eg: nettle extract). Ours are all natural cold-pressed bars with no nasties.
WHAT IS THE PH OF THE SHAMPOO BARS?
Our bars are a PH of 9. It is impossible to get a lower PH in a shampoo bar (that still cleans!) unless using synthetic ingredients to do so. Natural, cold-pressed shampoo bars (like ours) with no nasties (also like ours), tend to be at a PH around 8-10 and we are smack bang in the middle!
MY HAIR FEELS A BIT DRY AFTER USING SHAMPOO BARS, IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?
We recommend using an acid rinse (like apple cider vinegar) after washing your hair. This will balance the hair and also take away any residue from the bars. Mix 1 part ACV with 4 parts water (it will feel instantly softer!). And don't worry, your hair won't smell like vinegar once it is dried. This can be either left in or rinsed out. You can even mix some essential oils into your vinegar mix for a lasting scent. Or follow with our Rosemary & Mint conditioner bar.
WHY DOES MY HAIR FEEL WAXY/GREASY AFTER USING A SHAMPOO BAR?
When making the switch to a solid shampoo, your scalp needs time to rebalance scalp oil. Some people (not all) go through a transition faze and start overproducing sebum while the scalp readjusts. This faze can take a few weeks, and if you have hard water the transition period is usually longer.
